Measure the pieces that set the job size
Estimate the longest limb and the thickest diameter. Count the largest pieces instead of trying to count every twig. Include a wide photo of the full pile and a closer photo that shows scale.
Choose a safe staging point
Keep limbs away from power lines, traffic, parked cars and unstable slopes. Do not stack them against a tree trunk or block an exit. Leave branches where they can be reached through a clear gate or path.
Separate what needs a separate answer
Root balls, trunks, soil, treated lumber and damaged fencing can change the load and disposal plan. Identify those materials before the appointment rather than hiding them under green debris.
