Group similar material
Put grass clippings and leaves together, keep woody brush visible, and place vines where they will not tangle across a walkway. If you use bags, say whether they are paper or plastic.
Flag heavy or messy material
Wet grass, sod and soil weigh far more than dry trimmings. Tell the hauler about them before the visit. Never mix chemicals, fuel containers or unidentified liquids into the pile.
Protect the yard and the route
Avoid leaving wet clippings on hardscape where they become slippery. Keep gates unlocked for the appointment and move fragile pots, hoses and low garden lights away from the carry path.
